I haven't been feeling especially well lately but had this really cute wood project that I really hated to leave for next year. So I was braver than expected and had my children help me get it done. My daughter especially was ecstatic. I need to let them help more often and not be concerned with a "perfect" project.
And here we go...
Purchase this little pile of wood from a local wood cut craft type store:)
Set the kids to work painting. I did double check for paint blobs or runs, they did pretty good.
Finished project. I used Moonlight paper Kit -item x7161B and modge podge to cover a few pieces. I love this paper kit, very classic Halloween. Realizing that a couple of my letters were a bit blah, I stamped a few Halloween images on them. I think I like it, the spider and webs on the c are my fave. As well as the fluff on the hat.
Over all I love it. Its not perfect but the memory of my children helping in the creation process was priceless.
Hopefully you get to use some of your creative juices this holiday season. If you would like to share what you've done please post a pic on my facebook page -- facebook.com/jlynnscreativeitch. Thank you!
Happy Halloween!

Work Space
I have seen ladies post pictures of their beautiful and efficient work spaces. I think of mine and chuckle. I love it. But I have come to the realization that the story is almost at its conclusion and at that point Twilight Corner will probably get a make over. Not sure what my "theme" will be but its rattling around in my head. Any suggestions?

Banner fun
Banners are pretty much the rage right now. I am always slow to pick up fads but I like this one a lot! But I have discovered that making little girl sweet ones is much easier than making boy ones. For girls there are flowers, butterflies, flowers, hearts, flowers. And for boys...well I made one work and my sister-in-law said she loved it so...
I used the chip board banner and the attached images were cut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge. Note: new catalog comes out in August and the summer release is "out with the old and in with the new" so if you've been waiting to get the Cart, careful you don't miss out.
Have fun making one for someone you love or to cheer up a little spot in your home.
This one is done using the Lucy Workshop on the Go kit. I love recipes! They make creating something so fast and easy.
This one was made using my own thinking. Ouch! Like I said, finding images that were baby boyish was a but tough for me but I think I did ok.
I also enjoy using our new Color Ready binding ribbon. I colored it with Grey Wool ink to match my project.
I do need to point out that the lettering on the NYLE banner was not CTMH. They were some extra chip board letters I had.

Snap the Water Fun!
Played around with the camera with the kids playing in the water. Aside from children and flowers, ok and sunsets, water is one of my favorite things to try and catch on camera.
Don't be afraid of getting down and dirty to get a better perspective. You'll love the outcome.
Don't you love the wave of muddy water at the left. Gross but cool.
And yes I did get wet on this one. My camera is ready to die so I am not super careful. But there are many creative ways to get a fun photo and keep your camera safe. Plastic baggie with a hole cut out comes to mind...
